The new SCHOLARSHIPS Program for child care providers
Are you looking for additional funding to return to school? Log on and ask your questions regarding the new SCHOLARSHIPS project for child care providers and directors/owners. Are you a child care provider working 25 hours a week or more, a child care director/owner working 40 hours or more a week in a licensed childcare center or registered family child care home? If you are also earning $14.45 an hour or less then you may be eligible for this scholarship.
Where are the Technical Schools in my area? What kinds of ECE programs of study are offered?
Are you a prospective student with questions about the types of ECE programs available at the Technical School level? From the CDA program to Infant/Toddler TCC you can ask questions about what program may be best for you and what types of aid are available at this level.
Where can I find ECE career assistance in my local area?
If you are unsure where in your local area you can turn for help and support in going through the process of returning to school log and find a contact for your area.
HOPE - You are probably eligible, but what is it and how can I access it?

This session will allow prospective students to explore if they are eligible for HOPE and which type they may be able to access. Participants can ask questions about where HOPE is available and the difference between the HOPE grant and scholarship. Students who are currently ineligible will also be able to ask how and if they can become eligible.

What are the PELL and SEOC Grants? Am I eligible?

Are you aware the federal government has funds for income eligible students? This discussion will help participants understand the qualifications for the Pell and SEOG grants. Topics will include what is considered income and how to figure your income correctly as well as what documents you may need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
Going back to school: 2 years versus 4 years.
This discussion will help prospective students learn the differences between the two and four year Early Childhood and Education programs. Additionally, the career opportunities and INCENTIVE$ for each degree program will be explored as well as the different funding available at each level.

This discussion will identify other sources of aid such as grants and awards that can be used for Early Childhood providers. If you are willing to do a little work, you may be able to find additional sources of funding for school. If you have access to the Internet either at work or at home and want to learn about sites to search for financial aid then this discussion is for you. Find out also about other resources of financial aid such as the best scholarship web sites to use.
